Programmes.....
Angel Tree Family Care provides a variety of programmes to cater for the needs of those we work with. These programmes are aimed at helping to reduce the potential first time offending for children of prisoners and increasing the resilience of families to cope with the challenges that come with having a loved one in prison.
Angel Tree Christmas

The Angel Tree Christmas programme initiates or maintains an existing relationship between the absent parent and the child. Whilst it is a ‘warm fuzzy’ it also has a very practical application that makes a difference.
We receive letters and cards from prisoners, children and caregivers with a message of thanks and expressing how much it means to them.

Christmas Meal

Many of our families have withdrawn from general community because they feel Whakama/shame, they have been judged and life is difficult. They are no different to the average person, we all put up protective walls and barriers when life throws difficult and painful things our way.
Therefore, a Christmas meal is a practical and nice way to extend an invitation for them as a family to come and enjoy a meal.
Family Events

Many of these families struggle to afford outings for their family, so we provide an opportunity for them to get out and about, have some fun together interacting within their family group as well as mixing with and meeting our dedicated volunteers.
A great opportunity for families to get out and have some fun with eachother and provides them opportunity to meet new people in a safe fun environment.
